Surgery
Our dedicated surgical suite is equipped with the latest monitoring and support devices. Items like suction, electrocautery positive flow ventilation and patient warming devices all ensure the safest environment for surgical procedures like spays and neuters to abdominal expoloratory surgeries and orthopedic surgeries.
Soft issue procedures range from
standard spays and neuters to more complicated surgeries like abdominal
exploratory, splenectomy, hernia repair and caesarian section.
Orthopedic procedures include cruciate repair, patellar luxation, bone
plating, external fixator repair, and bone pinning.
Pain management
One of our concerns when your
pet comes in for a surgical procedure is how comfortable it will be
after the procedure is done. Even routine spays and neuters are painful.
There have been studies linking post surgical pain with longer recovery
after anesthesia as well as prolonged healing time. We have several
types of injectable pain management drugs for mild, moderate, and severe
pain, as well as oral tablets, liquids, and transdermal pain patches to
make your pet feel more comfortable at home with you. Our hope is that
we made your pets stay here at San Joaquin Veterinary Hospital a
pleasant one.
