The Best Medicine Is Prevention
Vaccines
are an everyday part of our life. We vaccinate our young ones as they
grow and follow a recommended protocol. With more information becoming
available as with the potential risks with overvaccinating, we have
changed our vaccination protocols based on the recommendations from
AAHA, AAFP, and the most current symposiums. (Why put your loved one at
risk for a serious disease if vaccination can prevent that financial
burden?)
Our vaccination protocol is as follows:
DOGS Core vaccinations:
First DAPP vaccine is given between 6-8 weeks
Then the same vaccine is repeated every 3-4 weeks until the puppy is 15 - 16 weeks old.
Rabies is given after 4 months of age. Both DAPP and Rabies are boostered in one year then every 3 years after that.
DAPP= Distemper/Adenovirus/Parvovirus/ Parainfluenza
Additional Vaccinations:
Bordatella yearly for those at risk
Lymes vaccine yearly for those at risk.
CATS Core Vaccinations:
FVRCP given at 8 weeks of are then every 3 -4 weeks until 16 weeks of age, boost in one year then given every 3 years.
At risk cats:
FELV is given at 8 weeks, boosted every 3-4 weeks until 16 week, then boosted yearly
FERRET Vaccinations:
